Without culture, technical progress would be impossible: Albert Einstein never went to the Institute without his violin. When he got stuck on his theories, he played. He was not only a great scientist but also an outstanding violinist who drew inspiration from Mozart.
Culture must not be deprived of technical advances in the process of globalisation and digitalisation. Through CultureTotal's "Virtual Cultural Capital" project, selected partner cities will be able to present their cultural institution's programme online. In this way, not only residents and cultural tourists but a much larger target group can be reached.
In addition to classic venues, old "new" cultural venues such as historic or modern churches with their unique spatial concepts could be accessed virtually by a new and young audience.
Through the digitalisation of culture, nations and religions - regardless of distance, ideologies and purchasing power - can be connected. Thus international understanding can succeed much more easily.
To be selected as a Virtual Cultural Capital, the following conditions must be met:
Send us an e-mail and we will send you the concept form.
The closing date for entries for the next season is always 31 October of the previous year.

CultureTotal sees much more potential in the digital sector of cultural institutions than has been exploited to date. In cooperation with Telekom and the ticket service Eventim, the CultureTotal team offers a cultural streaming portal that brings virtual events to the audience in top quality. "Currently, many cultural event organisers fail to implement streams because of the financial or organisational effort involved," says the founder of CultureTotal, Dr. Majid Montazer. "We offer all services from technology to marketing from a single source. We encourage large and small institutions to go digital and enable them to offer their events at reasonable prices."
