Based on the novel by George Orwell
Animal Farm
It could have been the beginning of a new era! The animals on the "master farm" have managed to drive out their lazy and drunkard farmer after he has exploited them for years. The life of oppression and suffering seems to be history. From now on, they want to manage the "Animal Farm" together and in harmony - everyone should make their contribution. The new slogan is "All animals are equal". But their hope for equality and a life in freedom is gradually undermined by the hunger for power of a group of pigs.
George Orwell's 1945 novel describes the shift of power within an existing group. Orwell's parable thus becomes a timeless warning against the abuse of power and carelessness that can lead to the failure of a revolution. David Schnaegelberger's production of the novel will be performed by the Landestheater Burghofbühne as a premiere on Friday 11 June as a live stream from the Kathrin Türks Hall.
